Excitement mounted for a family in North East Lincolnshire as they joined representatives from the NHS, to celebrate the completion of a single bungalow that has helped their adult disabled son Daniel live independently. Daniel’s family and the NHS had been looking for a suitable property in North East Lincolnshire for sometime.

That was until the NHS approached us and asked if we would like to find and adapt a property for Daniel. It was important to Daniel and his parents that he is able to live with a certain amount of independence, whilst still living within North East Lincolnshire. The family had wanted to give Daniel the best chance of independence possible and that required a property being specifically developed for Daniel, who has a multiple learning disability that also affects his mobility.

We bought a bungalow in a great neighbourhood, that the family and the NHS really liked, and adapted it so that it was tailor-made to meet Daniel’s needs. The modified bungalow provided living space for Daniel and his carers so that Daniel could have his own home.

When we were contacted by the NHS to help deliver this project we were thrilled to be able to help the family. We hope Daniel will really like living in his bungalow which provides everything he needs to allow him to enjoy a more independent life.
